I came across this VPS provider when I was looking for the best Forex VPS. No wonder it’s one of the first VPS that I found because it has dedicated its VPS service to the Forex industry.
There are several advantages when a VPS provider dedicates its entire business to a specific niche or industry but the main one is that it can customize its services to meet the needs of particular users.
In this review, you can see what factors are important for a Forex VPS and how well the performance of FXVM is in each of those metrics.

FXVM VPS Features
There are some features that are more critical when it comes to choosing a Forex VPS. For example, a small latency to some parts of the world, let’s say 10 or 20 ms, might not be a big deal when you want a VPS service to host your website on. In fact, it’s impossible to have trivial latency to all countries or continents.
It’s the whole another story when you want a VPS for Forex trading purposes.
Why?
Because you only want a VPS provider that its datacenters are located in the same area as you broker’s datacenters are so that you receive a nominal latency. This might not be very important for some Forex users, however, if you want to run time-sensitive or high-frequency EAs, you can’t ignore latency.
Anyway, I’ve written about all the essential factors for Forex VPS in the best Forex VPS article. Now let’s explore these factors in FXVM.
Location and Latency
As I said, low latency is one of the main metrics that we consider for choosing a Forex VPS. If you want your trades to be executed fast, you need to evaluate two factors, broker execution, and VPS latency.
Broker execution is related to your broker and you should see how fast your broker executes trades. There are several factors related to that which are beyond the scope of this review but if you want to know more about them, you can check out this article.
Another factor is VPS latency which means how far the datacenter of your VPS provider is from the datacenter of your broker. The closer the faster data can be transferred.
If you use an EA that is not time sensitive and a bit of delay such as 100 ms or something like that is not important in the performance of your EA, you don’t need to be very picky about this factor. On the other hand, if a few milli seconds can have a tangible impact on the results of your EA, you really need to pay attention to latency.
Anyway, since FXVM has several datacenters all around the world, you will probably find a location that is close enough to your broker’s datacenter to give you the least latency possible.
The datacenters of FXVM are located in London, New York, Chicago, Amsterdam, Zurich, Frankfort, Singapore, Hongkong, Tokyo, Johannesburg, and Mumbai.
By the way, there is a page on the FXVM website where you can find the latency of various Forex brokers to the different locations of FXVM’s datacenters.
Uptime
Uptime is important because if your VPS is down regularly, your EA keeps disconnected. There are some EAs such as grid or martingale that are based on opening several positions. A disconnection can mess up the loop and consequently affect the performance of such EAs.
Most of the VPS providers claim to keep their service up 99.9% however not all of them hold on to their promise.
FXVM has stated on their website that they give you 100% uptime which is almost impossible. You should leave at least 0.01% for unforeseen situations even if you offer excellent uptime. Perhaps that’s why they haven’t mentioned such a promise on their terms of service.
That said, I’ve been reviewing them for a few years now and haven’t received any complaints about their uptime from the visitors of my site — but still, the 100% claim is too much.
DDoS Protection
DDoS Attacks are one of the major factors that can cause disconnection, however, it’s not very critical when we talk about Forex VPS.
The target of DDoS attacks are mostly websites and your Forex VPS is probably never a target, however, some level of protection is suggested, just in case.
FXVM hasn’t mentioned anywhere on their website that they offer DDoS protection. I contacted them regarding this subject and they stated that they have DDoS protection on their VPS service but they don’t want to disclose how many MBps it is because of security purposes.
Although they don’t mention that all the well-known VPS providers implement some level of DDoS protection to prevent downtime. Unless you are buying your VPS from a run-of-the-mill provider or using a free VPS, you shouldn’t worry about that especially if you want a VPS service for trading purposes, not hosting a website.
Customer Service
FXVM offers the methods of contact that you normally see from a standard VPS or hosting provider. Live chat, ticket, and email are the ways that you can be in touch with them.
I contacted them via those methods to see how well and of course fast they respond.
They have a 24/7 live chat so I started from there. I think a bot connected me to an agent. It wasn’t fast and I waited for around 3 or 4 minutes to talk to the agent, however, after that I talked to a very welcoming helpful person who answered all my questions.
I also contacted them through email and ticket. It took around 30 minutes to get a response, well not bad.
I asked them several simple and technical questions and they answered them all. Of course, for some questions such as the DDoS one that I talked about earlier, I didn’t get a straightforward answer. I asked if they offer DDoS protection on their VPS services and if so, how many MBps.
The answer was, yes we protect the VPS services from DDoS attacks but we can’t disclose the scale of that for security purposes.
Of course, as I said in the DDoS section, it’s not a big deal since we want to use the VPS for Forex not for example hosting a website.
FXVM Purchase Plans
FXVM offers 4 designed plans with different slices and prices. The prices of the plans are neither too high nor too low, regarding the resources allocated to them, and we can place them in the average category in the industry.
With that said, one of the major advantages these plans have is several locations for datacenters which can be one of the reasons that they are not cheap.
Let’s review FXVM VPS plans and see which one can be suitable for you.
Lite VPS
If you need a VPS to run 1 or 2 EAS or MT4/MT5, you don’t need a lot of resources so the Lite plan is probably the best option for you.
With $19 you get a 1-Core CPU, 1.5 GB RAM, and 40 GB storage space.
CPU | RAM | Disk Space | Bandwidth | Windows Server | Price |
1 Core | 1.5 GB | 40 GB SSD | 250 GB | 2012 | $19 |
Basic VPS
If you want to run one or 2 more EAs than the Lite plan or have smoother experience with your VPS, you might want to consider the Basic plan.
A 2-Core CPU, 2 GB RAM, and 60 GB storage space are the resources you receive when you pay $28 and pick this plan.
CPU | RAM | Disk Space | Bandwidth | Windows Server | Price |
2 Core | 2 GB | 60 GB SSD | 500 GB | 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022 | $ 28 |
Advanced VPS
Advanced VPS is for more professional EA users who intend to run 4 to 6 expert advisors simultaneously or install the same number of MT4/MT5 on their VPS service.
This plan is priced at $49 and some specifications of this plan are: a 2-Core CPU, 4 GB RAM, and 70 GB storage space.
CPU | RAM | Disk Space | Bandwidth | Windows Server | Price |
2 Core | 4 GB | 70 GB SSD | 1 TB | 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022 | $ 49 |
Dedicated Server
If the resources that you’ve seen so far in the previous plan are still not enough for you and you want to run a lot of EAs on numerous charts, the Dedicated server might be the service you’re looking for.
A 4-Core CPU, up to 32 GB RAM, and 120 GB storage space are the slices that can meet the needs of most professional traders/EA users.
CPU | RAM | Disk Space | Bandwidth | Windows Server | Price |
4 Core | 16/32 GB | 120 GB SSD | Unlimited | 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022 | $ 170 |
The Bottom Line
When you want to use a VPS service for running EAs or other trading purposes, you’d better go with the VPS providers that have customized their VPS services for the trading industry and of course FXVM is one of them.
After reviewing FXVM VPS I think it is one of the best VPS providers for Forex for several reasons but the most important feature and the strong suite of FXVM is several datacenters all over the world which is critical for low latency and slippage and of course fast execution.
Although FXVM has several advantages as a Forex VPS, it has its own downsides as well. Maybe the most noticeable disadvantage of this VPS provider is their prices which are a little high. It can be justifiable though if you receive the resources exactly as mentioned in the specification of their plans. Some cheap VPS services are cheap only because they share resources between many people and you don’t receive the promised slices. As a result, your VPS is sluggish and you need to upgrade.
All in all, I think FXVM VPS can meet the expectation of many Forex users but if you are not among those people or want to see the comparison between FXVM with other VPS providers, you might want to check out The best Forex VPS article.
